Learn the Process of Traditional Carving

Join woodcarver Steven Antholis for a 2-day comprehensive class to learn how to carve a wooden spoon from a tree. You will learn the traditional craft of how to use hand tools, such as a carving axe & knives, to create functional art. Other topics to be discussed are understanding wood grain and orientation, safety, sharpening and wood finishes. If there is time we can also discuss decoration and history and other woodcrafts you can explore with these skills. Welcome to the world of greenwoodworking!

If you are traveling from afar, there is an option to camp at no extra fee. Facilities are rustic. Water is available but please bring your own cooking setup. We will likely be unable to have fires so prepare to cook with other means.
